The Interactive Game Pitch
My design philosophies or an area that I wish to explore
The plausibility of a successful web based interactive game pitch.
Relevance and extending my current field of discipline
A web based Interactive game pitch could be utilized to encourage crowd funding while simultaneously being pitched to a publisher.
Fresh and profound approach to a subject of consequence
Access to documentation of the development process would serve a dual purpose. First, it would enable project contributors to view the progress and be part of the team and, second it would keep the project open for everyone to evaluate and see the direction of their investment.
Methodology
I will use a website to host both the documentation processes and visual development of Nevaeh: Univeil a Decimated Empire (NUDE) as well as a playable demo. The interactive game pitch will include the following focus areas.
An Introduction page will present the structure of the game including the background, game play, and key features as well as the intended platforms. The intro page will be organized in a fashion that will inspire the viewer to delve deeper in the proposed game.
A Treatment Page will be used to visually introduce the viewer to the games genre, as well as describe how NUDE fits into the current industry. Finally to keep the viewers’ attention they will be presented with NUDE’s unique selling points.
The Game Mechanics and Systems Page will breakdown various play modes, goals and victory conditions, control, player movement, camera, combat, damage, leveling, skills, magic, economy and item acquisition, item growth and unique play points.
The World of Neveah Page will give the possible investor a visual and descriptive insight into the different races, cultures, travel and trade systems that exist within the game world of NUDE.
The Playable Character and Non-Playable Character page will provide introductions to some of the key characters in the NUDE story line.
The Marketplace Analysis, Budget, and Schedule page is the hub for investors to analyze how their investment compares to similar games on the market in terms of fan fair, and sales figures. As well as the budget and schedule breakdown in its most current state.
The final piece of the pitch is a playable scenario that includes an arena environment, one main character and a major adversary.
Scope
The scope of this project will be managed by focusing the remainder of my course work on the development of the various parts of the game pitch, continuously building and refining as I progress through the Master’s program.
Conclusion
I believe that presenting a game pitch in this fashion will exceed the expectations of investors by providing them with easy to navigate, visually appealing documentation as well as offering insight into the games development and budget.
